Biography
Massa Mufti is an education specialist with over 30 years of experience in the US, Lebanon, and Syria, focusing on education policy, curriculum design, pedagogies, and education in emergencies (EiE). She is the founder of SONBOLA Group for Education & Development, providing innovative, inclusive education for Syrian refugee children in Lebanon (2013–2020). SONBOLA’s STEM for Refugees program was recognized among the top 10 global SDG-aligned solutions at the UN Solutions Summit 2017.
In the past, Massa played a founding role in the MASSAR Discovery Center Project in Syria (2007–2011), leading the development of science-museum content, curated exhibits, educational programs, and local capacity-building in hands-on learning. Although the project was never fully realized due to the war in Syria, Massa remained an active speaker at NAMES and a leading contributor in the broader field of science and lifelong learning.
Her experience includes roles at Learning Equality, Plan International Lebanon, and as a consultant for UN-ESCWA. Massa holds MAs in French Literature and Education Leadership & Policy and is a certified trained coach with additional certifications in Harvard Project Zero, EiE and Executive Leadership among others.
