Biography
Spearheading the conceptualization, strategic planning, and flawless execution of all public-facing science events and comprehensive outreach programs for the esteemed Planetarium Science Center. This leadership role involves the end-to-end management of large-scale annual science festivals, most notably the highly successful Science Festivity (SF), which attracts thousands of visitors each April. Responsibilities include developing and refining efficient operational systems to manage multifaceted activities, diverse scientific shows, and complex visitor logistics across multiple venues simultaneously. A key achievement in this role was the significant evolution of the Science Festivity, a history presented at the European Science Events Association (EUSEA) conference in Tartu, Estonia, in 2015. This presentation highlighted innovative strategies for dramatically increasing audience engagement through the creation of large-scale interactive outdoor workshops, diverse science demonstrations, and dynamic exhibitions. A unique aspect of this initiative involved actively inviting and mentoring associations and NGOs from non-science backgrounds to participate as effective science communicators, providing them with essential guidance, resources, and training to develop compelling presentations and activities. Further international experience includes participation in the Abu Dhabi Science Festival (ADSF) in 2016, delivering workshops and shows over ten days and successfully training Emirati university students as science communicators. A subsequent engagement at the ADSF in January 2020, organized by Edinburgh Science Worldwide, involved performing a lead role in the science show “Defying Gravity,” an experience that provided valuable insights into international best practices for science show production and performance, subsequently shared with the PSC team to enhance existing and future programming.
