Reaching out to schools

Science centres provide a rich environment for education and engagement, but is it possible to take learning beyond the walls of the centre itself? Techniquest is the UK’s longest established science centre welcoming over 180,000 visitors every year to its site in Cardiff, Wales. Our ambition is to extend our reach right across the country, and we already have a broad and dynamic Outreach programme, which brings the Techniquest experience to 100,000 children in their own schools. Owain Davies, Techniquest’s Creative Director, will discuss why this approach is so vital to our long term strategy, the benefits it brings to our audience, and the challenges we face in delivering meaningful learning experiences to remote locations.
