Job Announcement: Junior Administrator

NAMES Secretariat Office (SO), hosted by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Egypt, is seeking to recruit a Junior Administrator for the duration of 6 months (April–September 2019), with possibility of renewal for another 6-12 months, depending on the Network’s needs:

Responsibilities

Handle administrative tasks as instructed by NAMES Executive Director and NAMES Administrator; said tasks include, among other:

  1. Draft, submit, and follow up on internal memos;
  2. Submit and follow up on administrative requests:
    -Travel Committee
    -Air Tickets Booking
    -Travel Per-diem
    -Accommodation
    -Transportation
    -Internal & External Missions
    -Internal & Externel Printing
    -Special Courier
    -Inventory
    -Halls Reservation
  3. Follow up on budget related issues with the Sector’s Budget Officer and the Financial Departments;
  4. Communicate with Active, as well as Potential, Members in regards to membership issues, as well as services and projects;
  5. Draft reports and file network documents, soft and hard copies;
  6. Assist in updating and maintaining the network’s databases;
  7. Contribute to brainstorming and planning sessions, dealing with services, marketing, fundraising, and/or projects.
    *Other tasks may include:
  8. Write, edit, translate, and/or post website and social media items to promote the network, its activities, its members, and its message in general, according to the guidelines set by NAMES Secretariat.
  9. Assist in preparing and disseminating email shots, e-newsletter, and/or other publications (if needed).
  10. Assist in other communication tasks (if needed).

Requirements

  1. University degree in a relevant field; prior experience in a relevant position is an additional asset.
  2. Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic; French would be an additional asset.
  3. Strong working knowledge of MS Office.
  4. Organized, motivated, and curious, with good communication skills.
  5. Ability to work with websites and social media platforms especially Facebook and Twitter.
