Hosted by The Scientific Center of Kuwait (TSCK), 27-31 October, the 4^th EMME edition featured 12 Speakers and 37 Participants from 8 countries; click here for the final program.

EMME 2019 targeted professionals from science centers, science museums, and other science engagement organizations who have aspiration, ability, engagement, and agility to learn and grow, and who are focused on taking their team and organization to the next level of learning, growth, and relevancy. The training aimed to develop field professionals from different disciplines in all areas of science center/museum and science engagement organizations management . Whether specialized in programs or exhibits development, education, marketing, or finance, participants found the training particularly helpful for their careers and success as potential science center leaders.

EMME 2019 offered a new, more cohesive format for the future science center leaders training program. This edition was “Project-Based”; all sessions fed into a “take away plan of action” that combined all relevant  disciplines. The Summer School was fun, educational, and stimulating for each participant; each module addressed the Learn, Develop, Apply, and Sustain (L.D.A.S.) model. Upon the conclusion of 5 exciting days, attendees were able to go back to their home centers to apply the skills and tools learned; they will be able to create and set up projects to help build and develop their home centers into a productive future.

EMME trainers and facilitators were experts from leading European and Middle-Eastern science engagement organizations with a long-standing practice. EMME is an ongoing collaboration between Ecsite and NAMES networks and a group of their members; it provides an opportunity for meaningful and in-depth networking between professionals from the two regions. EMME is thus an optimal opportunity for exchange of knowledge and expertise within a stimulating and educational environment.
