Science Communication Outside Walls: 2 Case Studies from Egypt

This talk presents two projects that go beyond the boundaries of formally dedicated PCST spaces. The first is the “Wonders of Science Show”, which is a mobile science show delivered through the FunLab, a unique micro science center at the American University in Cairo. The show aims to encourage school students to adopt STEM fields for future study and career. The Second project is “Science Events at the Cairo Book Fair” organized by “1001 Inventions”, an international organization that aims to raise awareness about the scientific achievements of Muslims. These unique events aim to engage audiences of the Fair through a children’s book, a short animation film, and live science demonstrations.
