Rhys Evans
Development Manager, Techniquest, UK

Bio:

Rhys Evans, Development Manager at Techniquest, leads the negotiation, development and delivery of high quality projects ranging from exhibit design and manufacture, educational resource development, communication programmes and interpretation projects across the world. Since joining Techniquest over 13 years ago he has been a deeply passionate advocate of the role of informal education as a tool to support formal learning goals on projects across Asia, Scandinavia and the NAMES region.

Abstract:

Its status as the UK’s first purpose-built science center, combined with over three decades experience in designing and developing interactive experiences for organizations across the world gives Techniquest a unique perspective when working with partners. Its work in the Middle East has grown from small exhibit-building projects, through to major partnership, initiatives, developing exhibits, master-planning, and educational resources. This has not only enabled Techniquest to share its experience with new and developing centers, but also learn from those it works with. This work will be explored and showcased, demonstrating how this approach to collaboration and dialogue can help smaller centers maintain financial sustainability, achieve audience outcomes, develop the capacity of their staff, and contribute to sector wide international development.
