Attracting Schools – the Science, the System and the Process

-Learning Objective/s:

Session attendees will learn how they can establish a solid offering as well as a system for working with schools and attracting them as a primary stakeholder. The session will also cover outreach and going beyond the boundaries.

-Content:

The session will be presented in two parts: Outreach to the community and establishing a solid relationship with schools as main stakeholders.

As learning institutions, we have a responsibility to reach out to as many people as possible. We make the impossible become a tangible reality when we inspire future generations to be innovators themselves. However, outreach is not the goal but the tool: during the session a model for successful outreach including a Mobile Children’s Museum will be shared.

We also need schools to visit our museums and centers but how do we bring them and how do we keep them interested? The key factors in putting together a solid content as well as a system for working with schools will be presented. Schools have different needs and there is never a one size fits all. Attendees will be presented with examples of schools’ programming: how to start, the challenges, the system, maintaining a positive relationship and development of specialized interactive workshops.
