Biography:

Born in Prince George, Maryland. She started her elemantary education in Turkey. She finished high school in Turkey and then she went to U.S for her undergradate and graduate education. She studied at University of Albany. Her major was Early Childhood Education and Educational Psychology. She worked in Montessori School for 4 years. She gave lectures in sociology and psychology field. She worked with Gifted and Talented students. She started to work in Bursa Science and Technology Center since 3 years as an Education Coordinator.

The Place of Gifted Children at Science Centers

In this study, gifted and talented students perceptions about scientific skills, future world and technology will investigate in science and technology center. Also the purpose of this study to investigate gifted and talented students' image of scientists.This is a very well-equipped large-scale project which has been structured for gifted and talented children between the ages of 10 to 14. The project idea has emerged with the request of scientists, academics, teachers and parents visiting the science center who believed that the activities of science centers are nurturing children both socially and emotionally and mentally and required long-term and much more comprehensive activities. As Bursa Science And Technology Center, we have been planning to run the named project for a long time with a detailed prepaired programme by the motivated team. Educational planning will start with days shared among a variety of disciplines. The main structures will continue with workshops which subjects to various scientists and their inventions which are adapted in to todays systems. For example; Archimedes' On: the discovery of water buoyancy. This workshop will be testing the buoyancy of water and power on a variety of branches of science. Describing the principles of engineering work on a robotic arm hydraulic systems, hydraulic structures, vehicles, etc.. aims to explain the buoyancy of the water. All of these events of that day; scientists’ inventions and discoveries will be supported with science interviews on educational aspects. Another topic for the day will be brainstorming and creativity workshop.
